All of the antiques in this archive were originally purchased at Scottish country house auctions between 1959 & 1984.

They are a sad legacy of the castles and mansions, which once housed them but they are also an interesting insight into the history and development of English furniture with many unique and unusual pieces that maybe be difficult to find similar examples in the standard literature.

It is hoped these images maybe of use to authors, scholars, researchers or anyone interested in or studying English furniture history. We welcome any constructive comments or enquiries.
